Paula Edelstein began her entertainment career in Chicago, IL, as a model in television commercials. During her years in Chicago, she was a contributor to major publications, including Johnson Publishing, Johnson Products, and Tuesday Publications. She later joined the CBS affiliate WMBD-TV in Peoria, IL, as a member of its news team. Since her move to the West Coast, Ms. Edelstein has worked with major producers, entertainment companies, and broadcast journalists, including KTTV-TV, Norman Lear, Soul Train, the William Morris Agency, Agency for the Performing Arts, Regency Artists, Paramount Pictures, the Walt Disney Company, Motown Productions, RKO Pictures, KFAC-FM Radio, Eddie Murphy Television, Star Trek, Bob Dylan, and Sony Pictures Classics.

Paula’s writing was noticed while at Paramount and was encouraged by executives of RKO Pictures during her stint there as a story editor. Her writing credits include Bricktop: The Musical, Polo Fever, "Rap On," "The Adventures of Heather and Megan," and Sounds of Timeless Jazz, and many more, as well as her contributions to many articles, interviews, music reviews, short stories, liner notes, and songs.

Educated throughout the United States at several prestigious colleges and universities, Ms. Edelstein has co-produced various programs, including seminars for Women in Film, and she has judged the International Broadcasting Awards. She is included in Who's Who of American Women and currently works as a freelance journalist who contributes to Suite 101.com, All Music.com, Jazziz Magazine, Sounds of Timeless Jazz.com, among other award-winning publications and online magazines.

In 2000, Ms. Edelstein received the Editor's Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry. She has written two books and authored liner notes for several best-selling CDs produced and performed by Armik, Eric Person, Elliot Caine, Young & Rollins, Estelle Reiner, and many others. She has also authored several introductory jazz courses for online universities and Internet publications.

Ms. Edelstein produced and narrated Sounds of Timeless Jazz: A Collection of Interviews in 2008. The recording spotlighted interviews with Stanley Clarke, Ahmad Jamal, Carmen Lundy, Valarie King, Daniel Ho, and the esteemed poet laureate Marvin Kimbrough.

In 2011, the editors of the Jazz section of www.Suite101.com awarded her their Editor’s Choice Award for her article titled "Midnight Sun: An Evening With Dee Dee Bridgewater.” She is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), American Society of Composers and Performers (ASCAP), and the Jazz Journalists Association.

In addition to her music journalism career, Paula Edelstein is a licensed REALTOR/Broker. She owns and operates a real estate brokerage firm in Studio City, CA.
